Sustainable travel to Saalbach Hinterglemm.

Gone are the days when we would get in the car and drive hundreds of kilometres though the country, often alone, without a second thought. Today, we consider our journeys more and try toplan our holidays sustainably.

Similar to other aspects of our lives, travel also involves finding a balance between enjoyment and consumption. Today, sustainable travel means not travelling alone by car, but instead using public transport as much as possible and favouring environmentally friendly and emission saving forms of travel.

Environmentally friendly travel to Saalbach Hinterglemm.

Smooth and eco-friendly travel to the Bachgut.

The Salzburg regionand also Saalbach Hinterglemm lie in the heart of Europe. And this central location also makes getting here much easier. The state capital Salzburg is a central rail hub with many connections to and from Germany and beyond. One of the main routes to the south leads from Salzburg via Bischofshofen – St. Johann near Salzburg – Schwarzach/St. Veit to Zell am See. Throughout the whole year, a dense network of railjet connections ensures many fast and convenient train offers. There are regular buses to Saalbach Hinterglemm from the Zell am See rail station which offers convenient and climate friendly travel. Taxis are also available in front of the station.

If travelling from within Austria or from Bavaria and Switzerland to Zell am See, there are a range of good value tariffs from the ÖBB (Austrian Federal Railways).

Get to your holiday destination while you sleep!

The extensive Nightjet network is recommended if you're traveling from further afield - get the night train to Innsbruck or Salzburg and travel while you sleep. Breakfast included! From there you can get to Zell am See with the Regionalexpress train.

As soon as you check into your accommodation, you receive the Joker Card which offers, amongst other things, free use of public transport during your entire stay. Only applies in the summer.

Travel around the Bachgut area.

Free use of public transport in the summer with the Joker Card.

The Joker Card, which you receive at check in at the Bachgut, entitles you to free use of public transport in the entire Pinzgau region in the summer. This includes all bus and rail connections of the SVV (Salzburg region public transport network) regional bus routes, the Pinzgauer local rail and the ÖBB trains on the Taxenbach – Zell am See – Saalfelden – Leogang route. Which means you can get to all the region’s attractions for free and climate friendly!

In the winter season you can also use the ski bus for free, with a valid lift ticket, daily from 8.30 am to 5.00 pm. This bus travels between Lengau – Hinterglemm – Saalbach – Jausern – Viehhofen every 20-30 minutes!
